Where is the Makrolon® Effect found?
All across the world. The global demand for Makrolon® is increasing year by year. To support this, we are investing worldwide in our state-of-the-art world-scale plants in Baytown (USA), Krefeld/Uerdingen (Germany), Antwerp (Belgium), Caojing (China) and Map Ta Phut (Thailand). Each of these plants is large enough to ensure maximum efficiency in production. In total, our five production plants have an annual capacity of 1 million tons. Moreover, they are located so close to our international customers that we can guarantee them efficient “local” supply worldwide.

Our inventiveness extends all the way to production.
The production sites, like the material, are always at the cutting edge of technology. For example, regular revamping means our site in Antwerp remains one of the most state-of-the-art plants in the world even after 40 years’ operation. The same applies to our latest world-scale plant in Caojing. The production volume at this site will increase from 100,000 to 200,000 tons per annum in 2007 in order to ensure reliability of supply to the Chinese market in the future.
